Are you interested in seeing your Ferndale Fire Department up close? Need CPR training or just have a kiddo who is a firetruck fanatic?  

The Ferndale Fire Department is hosting an Open House on Saturday, October 14 between Noon and 4 p.m. at Fire Station #2, located at 1070 E. Nine Mile Rd. Fire staff are excited to welcome the community for a fun afternoon of interactive fire safety programs, CPR training, vehicle extrication demonstrations, fire extinguisher training, and station tours provided throughout the event. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.  

The schedule of events is: 

• 12:00 p.m.: Event opens to the public 
• 12:30 p.m.: Community CPR training  
• 1:00 p.m.: Vehicle extrication demonstration 
• 1:30 p.m.: Community CPR training 
• 2:30 p.m.: Community CPR training 
• 3:00 p.m.: Vehicle extrication demonstration 
• 3:30 p.m.: Fire extinguisher training 

The event is free and open to all.

When they're not working to protect and serve those who live, work, and go to school in Ferndale, the Fire Department prioritizes engaging with the community. They recognize the importance of not only responding to emergency situations but also educating people about fire safety and how to prevent emergency situations from occurring. Fire safety education saves lives.
