Robert Ginther

Robert Ginther, a lifelong resident of Oakland County who grew up in Ferndale, has been in public service as a first responder for thirty years. He holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fire Fighting Technology from Oakland Community College, a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Public Safety Studies from Siena Heights University; and is a graduate of the Eastern Michigan University School of Fire Staff and Command (21st Class) as well as a graduate of the Michigan State University School of Police Staff and Command (6th Class).

Ginther has had the privilege to increase his involvement in the greater public safety community by teaching various police, fire and EMS topics at Oakland Community College having worked in numerous operational and supervisory capacities. He has served on various committees and in committee leadership positions including as the Chair for the Oakland County Courts and Law Enforcement Management Information System Fire Governance Committee, the Medical First Responder Representative on the Professional Standards and Review Organization of the Oakland County Medical Control Authority as well as the MFR Representative for the Medical Control Committee, he has also served as the Vice-President/Training Manager as well as the President of the South Oakland Fire Association.

He is currently serving as the Chair of the Oakland County Training Committee, overseeing the fireworks funding allocations for the county, as well as a Director on the Oakland Community College Foundation Board of Directors.
