Vendor Issue Causing Slow Credit Card Payments

The City of Ferndale's credit card payment provider, Point & Pay, is currently experiencing performance issues that are making it more difficult to accept credit card payments. Issues include periods of extreme slowness, during which credit card transactions take up to five minutes or longer to process, and patchy outages, during which credit card payments cannot be completed. These issues are affecting all Point & Pay customers, including the City of Ferndale, and are system-wide, meaning that both online and in-person transactions are impacted.

Summer Property Taxes Available As Of July 1

Water Rate Increase as Ferndale Plans for Water Infrastructure Needs

On July 1, 2022, the City of Ferndale’s 2022-23 water rate increase will go into effect. The increase was approved by City Council on April 25, 2022, as part of the annual budget process.  

Ferndale Receives Gold Certification for Environmental Leadership

The City of Ferndale has received a gold certification in recognition of environmental leadership by the 2021 Michigan Green Communities Program (MGC). 44 participating Michigan municipalities were awarded gold, silver, or bronze seals of achievement, reflecting community leadership in areas of energy efficiency, climate adaptation and resilience, recycling, environmental justice, and more. Ten communities received bronze and twelve received silver, which positions Ferndale among twenty-two communities to receive the gold certification.  

UPDATED: Rainbow Crosswalk Repainting to Take Place May 31

The Rainbow Crosswalk on West Nine Mile Road will be repainted on Tuesday, May 31, which was previously scheduled for Wednesday, May 25. This will involve a temporary road closure on West Nine Mile, between Woodward and Allen, until the work is complete. There may be some delays, and be sure to follow all posted detours.

City's Online Payment System to be Temporarily Delayed Tuesday, April 24

Ferndale's online payment system, Point and Pay, will be conducting emergency maintenance on the morning of Tuesday, May 24, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and continuing into the late morning hours.
